What first-timers tell us, every time
Before the night
What is UNLEASHED — and what should I expect on my first night?
UNLEASHED is a techno-focused, sex-positive party at INSOMNIA Berlin. Two floors carry the night: upstairs the Main Floor runs peak-time and melodic, downstairs the Dungeon goes darker and harder — and all play areas are open. Doors open at 22:00 and the music runs until 06:00.
Expect a phone-free club, a crowd that made an effort, a trained awareness team and a room where consent sets the pace. Most first-timers tell us the same thing afterwards: it felt safer and more relaxed than a regular club night. Come curious, take your time, and only do what feels right.
Do I have to join in with anything?
No. Nothing at UNLEASHED is expected of you — not playing, not undressing, not even small talk. Plenty of guests come purely for the techno and never set foot in a play area. That, too, is a complete night.
You set your own limits, and they are not up for discussion. No means no, maybe means no, and only a clear "Yes!" means yes — and you can change your mind at any moment. The same protection that covers everyone else covers you.
What do I wear?
One line: sexy techno with a kinky, fetish edge — latex, leather, harnesses, chains, mesh, lingerie or your most daring clubwear. Streetwear and everyday outfits don't get in, and the dress code is checked at the door.
Effort matters more than budget: a simple look worn with intention beats an expensive costume. Read the full dress code for the wear-this / leave-it-home breakdown — and test your fit with our Outfit AI on Telegram before you head out.
How do tickets work — and does a ticket guarantee I get in?
Tickets sell in presale tiers — the earlier you buy, the less you pay. When a tier sells out, the next, pricier one opens; the cash desk at the door is cash only. We sell via Rausgegangen and Resident Advisor, and you can preregister your interest on Joyclub. All current links live on the buy tickets page.
Honestly: a ticket is not guaranteed entry. The door decides on vibe and attire, so put real effort into your outfit. The party is strictly 18+ — bring valid photo ID, no exceptions. If you're turned away at the door with a valid ticket, you're covered by our refund policy.
In practice, single guys have the hardest time at the door — women and couples who match the dress code get in around 98% of the time. So whoever you come as, the outfit is what makes the difference: dress the part and you're golden.
At the door & inside
What happens to my phone — and can I take photos?
UNLEASHED is a phone-free party — all phones go to the cloakroom at the door, so cameras simply never make it onto the floor. What happens on the floor stays on the floor; that's the deal that lets everyone be free.
The one exception is our dedicated photographer, who's in the photo booth for most of the night and only ever shoots with your direct consent. Everywhere else, the club stays camera-free.
What are the two floors like?
Upstairs, the Main Floor runs peak-time and melodic — techno-heavy, built to carry the night. Downstairs, the Dungeon goes darker and harder, with the play areas around it. Same party, two energies; drift between them however the night takes you.
You'll also find free showers, a refreshments station, and quiet chill areas to cool down — condoms and lube are free all night. On the Main Floor the music is peak-time techno: we start slow, and around 1 AM the tempo climbs, often ending the night in the 138–145 BPM range, while the basement always runs a touch harder. We also throw special editions where we do something different.
What's allowed in the play areas?
All play areas are open and you're free to explore — always within consent. Ask first, agree clearly, and keep checking in. Only a clear "Yes!" counts, and it can be taken back at any time. Watching from a respectful distance is fine; hovering and staring is not. And an outfit, however revealing, is never an invitation to touch.
The whole club is a play area — you can play anywhere. There's also a dedicated couples area, open only to couples (alone or with the people they bring), plus dedicated corners for more action. Our five CORE rules cover all of this — read the rules before the night. Anyone who breaks consent is out, no debate.
I feel uncomfortable — who helps me?
Our trained awareness team is on site all night — this is exactly what they're there for. You don't have to justify anything or be "sure" something happened: if a situation feels wrong, that's reason enough.
If you can't spot the team right away, go to the bar or any member of staff and ask for awareness — they'll connect you immediately.
Practical
Can I get a refund or pass on my ticket?
Tickets are tied to a fixed date, so there's no general right of withdrawal — and no-shows aren't refunded. If you're denied at the door with a valid ticket, you're covered: have the door team photograph your ticket and mark it as rejected, then our refund policy applies.
Can't make it? If you bought through Resident Advisor, use their official resale. If you bought through Rausgegangen, the tickets aren't locked to a name — post on your socials and pass it on to someone who wants it.
How do I get there?
INSOMNIA Berlin, Alt-Tempelhof 17-19, 12099 Berlin (open in Google Maps). The U6 station Alt-Tempelhof is about a two-minute walk from the door — on our party nights (Saturdays) the U-Bahn runs all night, with night buses on Tempelhofer Damm as a backup. Doors open at 22:00.
Is the venue accessible?
Honestly, no. INSOMNIA is an old, multi-level building — Main Floor upstairs, Dungeon downstairs, connected by stairs — and there's neither the infrastructure nor the space to make it step-free. There are quiet, calmer corners and free earplugs around the club, and if you have specific access needs, message us on Instagram before the night and we'll be honest about what we can do.
Can I come alone?
Yes — and you'd be far from the only one. Plenty of guests come solo; some of the best nights start exactly like that. The crowd is open, and the setting makes it easy to start a conversation — and just as easy to say a friendly no.
If you want a soft landing: come early while it's calmer, find a spot at the bar or in a chill area, and let the night come to you. And if you feel lost at any point, the awareness team is happy to be your first conversation.
